Sleep Therapy

I'm a light sleeper. Water dripping, dogs barking, even the frogs and crickets can keep me awake at night. I live in the middle of nowhere and all those outdoor critters like to compete to make the loudest noise. Their very own twisted version of Idol. Lucky me. Usually I try to block the noises with my mind. Unfortunately my mind isn't that good and I usually end up falling asleep on those very active nights because of exhaustion. Now, since receiving a Sound Oasis Sound Therapy System, I can pick a soothing sound and fall asleep peacefully. This unit is small and packed with BIG features! It uses sound cards that can be changed depending on your mood. Each card holds twelve different sounds. This unit even lulls me to sleep by slowing down the sounds until the sounds simply fade away. There is no abrupt end! The sounds are very realistic and very relaxing. The Sleep Oasis offers more than typical sound machines that I have used and I am pleased with the variety of sound options! This unit features a backlit alarm and I can wake with a buzzer or gentle sounds. I can this machine with headphones or a speaker pillow. I can also set the timer for continuous, 30, 60, or 90 minutes. I only wish I could mix some of the sounds. Other than that, this is the perfect goodnight! Sleek and stylish, this compact unit retails for under $80. That's cheaper (and more natural!) than sleep inducing medication. Visit their site for more information and be sure to check out their other great products! They have something for everyone. Baby too!

Slice And Dice

It's hard to find a great knife, especially when looking online. I like to pick up a knife and see how it feels in my hand before I commit to making a large purchase. Cutlery can be expensive. Very expensive. I look for a knife that is comfortable, balanced, strong, and a knife that will last. Recently, I was sent beautiful set of steak knives in a wooden block from Chicago Cutlery. I was familiar with the brand, but I never owned or used any of their products. The set is very attractive. The handles are smooth and the blades are sharp. Each knife seems to be made to last. After first use, I was sold. These knives cut so smoothly, with very little work on my part. They are balanced and they can be sharpened easily. These knives are affordable and after a couple of months, I am still very pleased. The handles are beautiful. My only complaint is the very slight roughness after hand washing. Oiling the walnut handles (I use olive oil) helps and it isn't much work. Brass rivets hold the handles to the blades for safety and stability. And should you ever need it, they offer a full lifetime warranty! Check out Chicago Cutlery! These sets make a great gift!

Slither And Slide

They're fast, they're furious. Meet the Pulse Slither Scooter! Two wheels up front and one awesome swivel wheel in the back! Logan has another scooter that he simply adored. When the Pulse Slither arrived, he was eager to check it out. It's quite different and he loves the ride! Logan hasn't yet mastered the Pulse but he is well on his way. The scooter moves like no other, or at least any we've tried. Turns are so much fun and faster than ever! The scooter is easy to assemble and it was well packaged. After putting it all together, both Logan and Sam were eager to try it out. It took a little getting used to. The back wheel offers the ability to go to extremes. More tricks, more maneuverability. In our case, this equals more fun. However more fun equals more risks, especially in our house. Expect a few falls and never allow your children to ride without a helmet. This scooter can get away from younger children! We made sure knees and elbows were also covered! The rear wheel has an adjustable tension so you can customize your ride! This is perfect for advanced riders. The Pulse Slither Scooter is built to last and it features oversized front wheels for balance, molded deck traction, and knobbed grips for better control. Ride facing forward or stand to one side. Just be sure to hold on tight! Buy yours here!

Three "Whishes"

Recently, I was granted three wishes. Want to know what I received? Smooth skin, a nourished body, and the softest skin imaginable. I love scrubs. I had one in the shower when I received Three Whishes Sugar Scrub. My scrub was oily, this is not! Brown sugar, raspberry seed, bamboo powder, and organic sugar cane gently exfoliates while organic shea butter, raspberry butter and aloe work their magic to moisturize. Vitamin E extract and organic avocado oil renews your skin without making you feel oily. An added bonus? No oily tub residue! Organic beeswax made my skin feel protected and sealed in the moisture. This stuff is great! A little pricey, the experience (and results) are well worth it. A little goes a long way. The Three Whishes Sugar Scrub is thick, like a cream, but loaded with sugar! Just scoop some out and start rubbing away dull skin. I was left with a glow and unbelievably soft skin after my first use. My dry winter skin didn't need an extra moisturizer afterwards! Check out their site for more information and browse their entire line! I'm making my "whish" list now!

MIA

No. I don't have blogger burnout. I have been busy! At everything except blogging. The past two months have been crazy and it has been hard to stay focused. We recently had a wonderful visit with my mother-in-law, my children enjoyed a rare snow, and then my husband and I developed a Scrabble addiction. I have also lost myself in a great book by Steven James. I have so many reviews to post and I will begin normal posting tomorrow. See you then!

Bring Eden Home Into Your Home!

Yesterday, we had a snow day! Logan hasn't seen snow in years, since one of our last trips to New York. He built a snowman, had a snowball fight, and made snow angels! Sam loved his first experience and I don't think he stopped laughing until it was time to go in. We played until it was too dark to see and then reluctantly went inside. After warming up with hot showers, we all relaxed in front of a fire. I wrapped up in my new ultra plush robe from Eden Home! It is so soft and the thick organic cotton is warm and inviting. The Organic Cotton Luxe Spa Robe is hooded and it is ankle (I'm 5'3") length. It's unisex and my husband is extremely jealous! I had to fight him for it!
After I was told that I could review this robe, I sat down to really look at their website. I couldn't believe the products and prices, and I couldn't believe my luck when I noticed their sales! I bought products from The Laundress and Maison Belle. Spring Cleaning is coming up, but I think I'll get a head start! I saved about 75%!!! I made more than one order over several days. When an item had sold out, or they did not have enough to fulfill my order, Angela from customer service promptly emailed/called and she gave me all the time I needed to make adjustments. She even gave me an extra product for my trouble! She was friendly and went out of her way to make sure I was happy! She had no idea that I was going to be reviewing Eden Home! Thanks Angela! Eden Home is a winner. They want you to be a happy life-long customer! I know I'll be back!
I will be attending a baby shower soon and so many things caught my eye. Some products are expensive, some are not. They really do have something for every budget. They put a lot of thought into their stock. Their site is user friendly and they are easy to contact! Their gift wrapping is beautiful! The robe I received was wrapped in a beautiful brown box with contrasting ribbon (their signature color!) and the robe was nestled among their signature brown tissue paper. It's all eco friendly too! Use coupon code GERB15 at checkout to save an extra 15%!
I received an awesome gift to send to one lucky reader! The Aroma Pure Gift Set includes a Winter Blossom Robe and other bath treats! It comes in a gift bag and it is sure to please! To enter, visit Eden Home and tell me what you would like to try! Leave your answer in a comment! Follow me for an extra entry! Visit Eden Home's Blog and tell me something about one of their bloggers! When you do, leave your answer in another comment! Be sure to check out the posts too! The bloggers have a lot of knowledge to share! (Thanks Carmen!) Twitter, Stumble, Blog, and/or Digg for three additional entries! Giveaway ends at midnight on March 1, 2010! US residents only, Good Luck!

Valentine Gift Guide: Break Out The Bubbly!

You know from previous posts that I heart Sephora. I have for years! I have been a beauty insider, scoring great products, for almost 4 years. I can't remember how I got hooked, but I did. Over the years, I have scoured their new arrivals and sales, and I have ordered get well packages for friends. To me, a great bubble bath is the best medicine! I also think it's the greatest gift for Valentine's Day, birthdays and anniversaries! I was recently given the opportunity to try their luxurious bubble bath. It wasn't my first time trying it, and it won't be my last! Sephora's Bubble Bath is a pure delight. The rich, thick liquid pours slowly and makes plenty of glorious long lasting bubbles! Some brands are drying. Mix hot water and winter and you are sometimes setting yourself up for a major disaster. My sensitive skin was hydrated after each bath. I even skipped the body cream a few nights! If you are looking for a special gift for your Valentine, look no further. You can't go wrong with Sephora!

Valentine's Day Gift Idea- Sticky Fingers!

I am a self confessed chocoholic. I love anything chocolate. Some things I love more than others, and this is one of those things. Sticky Fingers Bakeries sent me an assortment of brownie mixes, a scone mix, and a muffin mix. The bakery name is fitting, since I developed a case of sticky fingers soon after the brownies were baked! Things have been busy, but I have made one of the brownie mixes. I haven't tried the scones of muffins yet, but as soon as I do, I'll tell you all about it! I know baking mixes are not traditional Valentine's Gifts, but these are extra special! I tried the Chocolate Fudge mix. These are the best brownies that I have EVER put in my mouth. They are moist and I think it's a miracle that the brownies don't fall apart when you pick them up! Yes, they're that moist! The flavor is rich and there are little chocolate bits in each brownie. I LOVED them. I hated to see the baking dish become empty so quickly! These are my new favorites and even though they are more expensive than grocery store brands, they are worth every penny! Order a few and see for yourself! Did I mention free shipping? Order ten items or more and they will give you free shipping! Now that's a sweet deal!
