Godiva For Easter!

I remember the first time I experienced Godiva. I bought a package of Godiva Signature Biscuits. I've been hooked ever since. There was something special about those buttery crackers topped with a milk chocolate tablet. Every now and then I grab a bar of chocolate, a box of those delicious biscuits, or a tin of pearls to enjoy when I'm alone. Those are very rare moments! This Easter, fill your baskets with the richness of Godiva. Lately, I'm more of a milk chocolate girl, and their milk chocolate is creamy and absolutely delightful. When I was given the opportunity to review a few products from Godiva, I was thrilled!
I received a beautiful Gold Ballotin that was filled with Godiva's best. At least that's my opinion! Now, I've had these before and I love them. The variety of treasures inside vary and I found myself wishing there were more Milk Chocolate Praline Hearts and Dark Mint Medallions! The Macadamia Mosaic was also one of my favorites! It's such an elegant collection. We also received two adorable Milk Chocolate Spring Flower Lollipops in Pink and Yellow! They are so adorable and they add a nice touch to Easter Baskets! Check out Godiva online or at a store near you!

Vegan And Vegetarian Easter Snacks! The Healthier Choice!

Logan and Sam love Jelly Beans! We couldn't possibly give them an Easter Basket without them. When I found out about Surf Sweets, I had to try their products. They are made with Organic Fruit Juice and natural sweeteners! When you open the packs of Jelly Beans, Gummy Bears, and Gummy Swirls, the intense fruity smell hits you. It smells just like fresh fruit! So, the question is, how do they taste? How do they compare with other brands? The flavor is not as distinct as Jelly Bellys. I can't pop a jelly bean into my mouth and be 100% certain of the flavor. But that's the magic of artificial ingredients used by many other companies. You could make cardboard taste like a strawberry if you wanted to. Surf Sweets has none if that! They are very flavorful and juicy! They're delicious and they are much better for you, according to their site. I certainly didn't feel guilty giving them to Logan and Sam! They are sweetened with organic cane juice and real organic fruit juice instead of corn syrup, and they’re free of artificial colors, flavors and GMOs. Surf Sweets candies are gluten free, dairy and casein free, and allergy friendly, meaning that they contain none of the most common food allergens (wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish, shellfish). All Surf Sweets candies are produced and packaged in a dedicated nut-free facility!
Surf Sweets has delicious options for vegans and vegetarians as four of its candies are vegan (Fruity Bears, Gummy Swirls, Sour Berry Bears, Sour Worms) and five are vegetarian (Fruity Bears, Gummy Swirls, Sour Berry Bears, Sour Worms and Jelly Beans)! Their Gummy Bears and Gummy Worms contain gelatin, so they are not vegetarian. Unlike other candy brands, Surf Sweets proudly makes its products in the USA . Most Surf Sweets candies are currently available in  grocery and natural foods stores, online and at specialty retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada! Be sure to check them out! Their new snack sizes are perfect for lunchboxes and Easter Baskets!!!
To Disclose: We were sent a regular size pouch of Gummy Swirls and plenty of Gummy Bears and Jelly Beans to try in order to complete this review. No monetary compensation received and honest opinions were given.

Get Sticky!

I love baking! Logan loves it too. Often, he will slide The Learning Tower close to where I'm working and ask me to bake. He loves to help of course. We both get excited when we get a new cookbook. He knows we will be spending time in the kitchen, measuring out ingredients and rolling out dough. Our latest cookbook craze? Chronicle Book's Sticky Chewy Messy Gooey Treats for Kids by Jill O'Connor with photographs by Leigh Beisch. We drooled over this book. Unfortunately there's only 30 recipes! But they are 30 of the greatest recipes for kids! And each one is sticky and chewy, and messy, and gooey...and fun! Pinkalicious Princess Cupcakes, Wicked Good Chocolate Peanut Butter Pudding Cups, Banana Split Pancakes, and Hunka Chunka Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies will have children begging for a treat. Logan was. This cookbook has earned a place on my shelf, but it's current home is my one and only cookbook stand. We use it all the time. The recipes are fun and easy to follow! The cover is easy to clean, just wipe it off! And believe me, it will get messy if you use it! Residents of US and Canada!!! You can win your very own copy! All you need to do is tell me which other children's book you would like to have from Chronicle Books! Leave your answer in a comment. Follow me (on google and/or neworked blogs) for a second entry! For a third entry, tell me what your kids love to make in the kitchen, besides a mess! Giveaway ends midnight April 18, 2010! Good Luck!

Sunday After Bella Blooms!

Tuesday, I received Bella Blooms from my friends at Teleflora! You can read my initial review here. I wanted to keep you updated on this arrangement because when I order flowers for a loved one, I can only hope it lasts longer than a week. So here's the scoop! I have not been diligent about misting. I've had a very busy week and my flowers have stood by looking beautiful without any help from me. The tulips have remained beautiful. Often in my arrangements, they're the first to go. It's such a shame because they are one of my favorites! The roses have opened nicely and the lovely scent hasn't faded. The colors are as bright as ever and many of the flowers have (or have almost) reached their prime. The snapdragons are still mostly closed and I wonder if they will begin to open soon. Usually, I think of them as the finale, and they bloom just before the life of the arrangement comes to an end. One hydrangea blosson has wilted. The all pink hydrangea is still perfect. The wilted blossom had some touches of white on it's beautiful pink petals. I think I may remove it soon. You can see it in the picture below. The sides have fallen over and left a "hole" in the middle of the blossom. I think this arrangement will continue to look beautiful for a while longer! Watch for another update next week! I am pleased with Bella Blooms so far! It is lovely and it has brought a bit of Spring into my home, just in time for Easter! If you are looking for a gorgeous arrangement for Easter, it's not too late! Order from Teleflora and send someone you love the gift of Spring!

Birthdays And Celebrations!

Yesterday, Sam turned two. He is growing up so fast! I am thankful that he still brings his sippy and blanket to me and curls up  into my lap for me to hold him. I hope it doesn't end anytime soon. Yesterday was a quiet day for him except for a little meltdown after dinner. Sam is having a tough time with his teeth and it didn't seem fair for him to have a fever and not feel well on his Birthday! On April 15, Logan will turn seven!!! It's so hard for me to believe! This year, he asked to share his party with Sam. He is the greatest big brother ever! He left Friday to spend time with his Grandpa and Grandma. I hate it when he leaves, but he missed his grandparents so much! This was a needed "vacation" for him. Before he left, he realized he would be missing his brother's actual Birthday. He apologized to Sam a million times (or so it seemed) and it was so cute to watch. On April 3, we will be celebrating their Birthdays with friends and family! We will have pizza and cakes, and toys from Discovery, Prince Lionheart, and Nerf. Century Novelty and a several other companies have worked to make this a very special day for them. I also have a very sweet giveaway! Be sure to join in on our celebratration! You are all invited!

Where Do All Those Socks Go?

Socks. Do they ever stay together? They are more like some of today's relationships. They are fine together for a while, but then they go their separate ways. They may leave in the wash, or when you fold them (yeah, sometimes mine swap mates), and if you have a child there's no way to know where those socks will be at the end of the day. Wally One-Sock is written by Lynn Baldwin and illustrated by Rae Anne Beckius. When I was asked to review it, I carefully thought about it. Some books that I review are terrible not very well written and the rhymes are off. Way off. The story doesn't flow. I always seem to hesitate when it comes to children's book reviews. After picking the book up one afternoon, I sat down to read it. It was brilliant! This is the kind of book that I enjoy reading out loud! The story is a great way to entertain small children because it can be read in a sing-song manner that will delight even the crankiest toddler. At least that was my experience! Sam is teething and nothing seems to make him smile. This book certainly did the trick. Logan is older and I wondered if he would like the book. He read it to Sam one afternoon and he really got into it! The illustrations really bring the socks to life. It's almost magical! This clever book was inspired by Lynn Baldwin's son. He is always missing a sock! She created this wonderfully written book to explain those missing socks! I can only cross my fingers that she will use her talents to write more books like this! I would like her help finding a few puzzle pieces, maybe even some legos. Whatever she writes about, I wouldn't hesitate to grab it. Buy your copy here or at Amazon.com!

Formula And Diapers On A Budget!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

Babies R Us powdered infant formulas, diapers, baby wipes, laundry detergent and purified water are now available at Babies R Us and Toys R Us. The prices are up to 50 percent less than comparable brands. If you've ever bought formula, you know that's quite a savings! I started Sam on formula when he was almost three months old. I cringed when I bought it for the first time! While I haven't used this formula, or any of these new products, I would certainly consider them. The product line began appearing in Babies R Us and Toys R Us stores late last year to give consumers an alternative to high priced products. I am especially excited about their line of diapers! I used disposables with Logan, but I decided to use cloth diapers with Sam. Every now and then, I use disposables if we are going to be out all day. I can't stand the thought of a car full of dirty cloth diapers. I used Pampers with Logan. I tried a few other brands but I was disappointed with them. Especially the less expensive alternatives. If these diapers are reliable, this is great news! I am eager to see them develop other products for their infant care line! If you've tried their brand, please let me know!

Dressed In Her Easter Best!

A couple of weeks ago, I received a dress for a little girl, size 12-18 months! I know, I know. I have two boys. But maybe one day, I'll have the chance to have tea parties with my own little girl! The dress is teal and green. It's made by NoKo, and it is the sweetest dress that I've seen in quite a while. The design is called Nico, and it is perfect for dress-up! It has a great cut and there's lots of room for little girls to dance around and jump and play. The dress is lined and it even comes with a matching diaper cover! The neckline is soft elastic and the twisted sash at the waistline is long enough to tie into the perfect bow! While I haven't washed it, I can vouch for the quality. It is 100% cotton and machine washable. I really love the graphics! The prints are inspired by Japanese Tenugui. This hand printed fabric has been made in Japan for over 1,000 years. It has been used to make head scarves for sushi chefs, business cards for Kabuki actors, and work cloth for farmers, but never dresses or play clothes for little girls! Thankfully NoKo's creators, Maureen Chianese and Jennifer Friese, were inspired by everyday beauty while living in Japan. They gave the world a gift, a glimpse into Japanese culture while they shared their unique designs, selling over 5,000 dresses worldwide! Visit their site and fall in love with their collection. I did.

Quick, Easy, And Delicious!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hormel Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.

When I was growing up, my mom always had Hormel Chili and Dinty Moore Beef Stew on hand for those quick meals when we were too tired to cook. I  would open a can of Chili and top it with loads of cheese. That was my favorite way to eat it! Hormel Chili is the leading brand in America! I know it was my favorite! When I wasn't in the mood for chili, I would often reach for a can of beef stew when I wanted something fast. The Dinty Moore Beef Stew needed nothing else from me except maybe a hot buttered roll. Quick, easy, and delicious! Need ideas? Visit http://www.hormelrecipes.com/ and try some of their delicious suggestions! Their Kobe Steak Roll-Ups sound great! Kobe Steak is my absolute favorite food, and while this recipe calls for a different beef (flank or skirt steak) with Kobe Steak Grill Sauce, I still think I would love it! While their labels have evolved, they are still familiar to me. It was always a comfort to sit down to dinner with a piping hot bowl of chili or beef stew! Hormel is celebrating 75 years. It all began with one product and turned into more than twenty varieties today. Hormel and Dinty Moore have been enjoyed by families for generations. Try some hormel today!

Easter Blooms With Bella Blooms!

I love flowers. I always have. Imagine my excitement when I received a fragrant bouquet from Teleflora! In soft shades of pink and lavender with splashes of brilliant green, all tucked into a beautiful woven basket, Bella Blooms ushered Spring into my home in the most delightful way. This cheerful arrangement captures the essence of Spring. While it's perfect for Easter, it would also be an ideal arrangement to brighten a loved one's day.
Roses in pretty pastel pink have blessed my home with their sweet perfume and button spray chrysanthemums provide a nice contrast, their bright color reminding me of fresh green grass. Lilly's, carnations, snapdragons, and gorgeous pink hydrangeas fill my basket with beauty. A few tulips enhance this perfect floral display. While my floral arrangement is slightly different from the featured "Bella Blooms" on Teleflora's site, I expected some variation. These aren't assembly line arrangements thoughtlessly put together in a warehouse. They are individually created by caring individuals whose main goal is to please.
When I found out that Hadden's Flowers & Gifts would be delivering my arrangement, I was thrilled. I have used them for years and they have never let me down. "Bella Blooms" was delivered with a smile in pristine condition. Everything was fresh, and I would almost swear the flowers were growing in a garden that morning. Teleflora stands behind their gifts and you will be satisfied, guaranteed. They offer same day delivery on most arrangements and you'll be pleased to know that all arrangements are hand delivered. Ordering is easy. My only difficulty was picking out just one arrangement!
Look for new arrangements every month as I explore various collections offered by Teleflora. I am very excited about this opportunity! I'll post again soon to discuss my current arrangement. I want to keep you updated on "Bella Blooms" so you will know what your loved one can expect. We all know that some flowers last longer than others and I will show you how this arrangement "ages" over the next few days and beyond.

My kids love to curl up with a fluffy, cuddly Pillow Pet. They're as soft (if not softer) than minky. Sam loves to bury his face in his new Elephant Pillow Pet! Great Gifts For Baby's First Easter Basket!

A while back, I discovered a great site with great products for children. I "met" an incredible mom with a talent for making just about anything. Ericka's products impressed me, and I followed her story and "got to know her" through her blog and facebook page! She is a Navy wife and mom of two adorable children, and her products are made to survive kids. Even the most adventurous! Speaking of adventurous, grab a cup of tea and check out her personal blog. I look forward to her posts!
Ericka owns Busy Bee Baby Basics, and she is currently updating her site. I'll be sure to let you know when it's ready! Right now, you can find her designs on Etsy! She sent us the most adorable fish blanket for Sam. We love blankets, and Sam has an assortment of soft soothing pastels. Ericka lovingly added a splash of color and livened up his world! Soft minky in brilliant red backs a colorful flannel featuring cute little fish! It is well made and after a couple of washes, it still looks brand new. We love it!!!

Visit her site to find colorful and very affordable burp cloths, blankets, floor cushions and more! She also makes great nursing covers! I love her adorable little art smocks! She has a few marked down, so hurry while they last! I could definitely use one for my budding little artist! She'll be adding more products soon so be on the lookout!!! Remember, Easter is coming! Her blankets would make a great addition to baby's first basket!

Life Is Sweeter With Hershey's!

Hershey's candy has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I will always remember sneaking a Special Dark out of our "family" bag of miniatures. Everyone knew those were saved for my dad, but I just couldn't resist! When I'm having a rough day, I can count on finding a smooth milk chocolate Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bar on my desk or kitchen counter. Compliments of my thoughtful husband, of course. And when Sam was born, I would savor a Kiss while I was feeding him. It always seemed to lift my spirits and make life a little sweeter.
Hershey's Chocolates will be a part of my children's Easter, and the holidays to come. My children will be enjoying Peanut Butter Eggs and creamy milk chocolate Hershey's Bliss Bunnies with those irresistible meltaway centers! Maybe a few Cookies and Cream Eggs too! And we can't forget about finishing it off with a few kisses! Hershey's Kisses that is! They're as great as they've always been! Quality chocolates at an affordable price. What could be better? Make Hershey's a part of your family traditions and expect a lifetime of sweet memories! You can find Hershey's Chocolates in most stores and also online! There Are Bubbles In My Chocolate~Giveaway!

Aerated Chocolate? Apparently it has made a name for itself in the European markets. When I saw a press release for Bubble Chocolate, I was instantly intrigued. After reading about Bubble Chocolate, I began to long for "a mouth-watering sensation that tickles the tastebuds." I mean, that's what the website touts. I still couldn't imagine what it would be like. I waited impatiently for a few days until my chocolate bars arrived. They were boxed, which is a very nice touch. I unwrapped the milk chocolate bar first, noticing at first how generous it was in size. It's at least twice the size of an ordinary chocolate bar. Breaking off a small piece, I decided to eat it like ordinary chocolate. The flavor was good, but it didn't seem that special. It was pretty dry and lacked the creaminess that I love in milk chocolate. I had to be missing something. I decided to follow the website's guidelines for eating this chocolate because there is a certain way you should eat it. They obviously know best, and after I popped the next piece into my mouth, I was treated to a sensory delight. I let it begin to melt, which didn't take long at all. Then I began to chew as the bubbles softened. The chocolate was very creamy and rich, and unlike any chocolate that I've ever tasted. After a while, I played with different methods. I really loved pressing a piece between my tongue and the roof of my mouth. Do this, and you'll be treated to an unusual but pleasant snap, crackle, and pop. It is almost like carbonated chocolate and it's very addicting. I also tried the dark chocolate bar in the same way. I preferred the taste of the milk chocolate Bubble Chocolate. Bubble Chocolate retails for about $2.50 per bar. You can get awesome deals on automatic shipments if you order from their site. They are now available in a few stores across the US. I would recommend trying them if you want to treat yourself to something different! Bubble Chocolate is giving 5 readers the chance to try this newest taste sensation sweeping the country! You will get a bar of dark and milk chocolate! To enter, Visit Bubble Chocolate and tell me something I didn't tell you! Follow me for an extra entry! You can also follow Bubble Chocolate on facebook for two extra entries! Blog about this giveaway and link to me and Bubble Chocolate for five extra entries! US residents only. Giveaway ends midnight EST March 28, 2010. Good Luck!

Easter. It's one of my favorite holidays. I love picking out the perfect Easter basket for my children. But have you looked online? It seems that most sites offer the same baskets! I like my gifts to be unique. I don't want my children to end up with something ordinary. I want it to be special. Hopefully, my children will remember their Easter baskets long after the candy is gone. If you are looking for that special basket, check out Bon Vivant Baskets! I have received treats from Lana in the past. She is very talented and she puts a lot of thought into each and every basket!
If you are worried about having a basket shipped, let me just say, what you see is what you get. She packs her gifts with love and care, and when I received baskets at Halloween, nothing was out of place. Even the bow was perfect after it was shipped! If you are sending a basket to a loved one, you can trust Bon Vivant Baskets to make your loved one feel special. She has several baskets listed for Easter, and I was just informed that more designs are on the way!!! If you want an Organic Easter Basket, Gluten Free, or Low Sodium Gift, she has you covered. Chances are, she has what you're looking for. If not, she'll make it! My biggest pet peeve with other sites? You pay premium prices and end up with a lot of fillers. You are left scratching your head, wondering where your money was spent. That's not the case with Bon Vivant Baskets! Check her out. You can also find Bon Vivant Baskets on facebook!
To Disclose: I have a previous relationship with Bon Vivant Baskets. I was under no obligation to post this feature and no monetary compensation was received. She is a Georgia (Athens!) business owner and I support her! That, and she's got the greatest baskets around!

Watch For The Giveaway!

Be sure to check back next week for an announcement! I have an awesome giveaway just for baby! The Corner Stork baby gifts & more has a great prize up for grabs for one of my readers! The details are coming soon!

Pinks and Greens and Butterflies

I love Spring. Unfortunately down here, Springtime is brief, and if you blink you can miss it. It's nice when you can find something that seems to make it last a little longer. The colors of this blanket and the butterflies in flight will remind you of Spring long after it's gone. This is the perfect blanket for girls! MiGi's Posy Butterfly Blanket features dancing butterflies in pinks, leaf green, and white. This 100% cotton blanket measures a generous 30"x40"! It's hand wash only, which is only a slight inconvenience, but it holds its shape and gets softer with each wash. This blanket is great for stroller rides. This soft knit blanket is sure to be a favorite and the beautiful colors will chase away the winter gloom. Visit MiGi and see shat they have to offer. Their products are great, and I have been a happy customer for years.

No More Suffering

Layla Grace is now at peace. She passed away early this morning. While I am thankful that she no longer suffers, I am heartbroken by her passing. Layla Grace and her family are an inspiration. Please continue to pray for this family. They need you now more than ever.

Listen-Along For Free!

I love to read. Quietly. I really don't like to read out loud. I read (quietly) at least two books a week (most weeks) not including Logan's homeschool read-out-loud books. I talk constantly through the day, explaining this and that, or making assignments. My throat is usually scratchy when bedtime rolls around. Sometimes I just don't feel like reading another book. When I'm really tired and I don't want to read a bedtime story, I end up feeling so guilty that I may read a very short story or a few poems. Now, for times like those, I can download an audiobook and Logan can follow along, scanning the pages of a beautiful hardcover children's book. We just listened along with Cesar Takes A Break, by Susan Collins Thoms. This book is illustrated by Roge. The audiobooks are recorded at Sterling by Sterling employees! Watch and rate the YouTube video about the making of Cesar Takes A Break, the audiobook, here! Cesar is a green iguana. He is a classroom pet, surrounded by children until Spring Break. Lonely, he finally takes his own little break and leaves his cage for a great adventure. He makes friends and has new experiences. This charming tale is beautifully told, and Logan loved listening and reading along. Sterling Children's Books has eight listen along storybooks. You can download the audio free! The books are available for purchase! Logan appreciated his story tonight, and I didn't have to read out loud. It works for us! Having the book in hand, Logan is introduced to words that he may not be familiar with, so it is a learning experience for him. Tonight, he went to bed and we were both happy. He had his bedtime story and I didn't feel guilty. These downloads are great for home and great for the road! Take them everywhere! Sterling Children's Books is giving away a set of all 8 children's books to three lucky readers! To enter, visit Listen-Along Storybook and tell me which book you think your child would like the most! For another entry, tell me your child's favorite bedtime story! Follow me for another entry! US residents only. Giveaway ends midnight EST, March 14, 2010. Good Luck!
