Bake Me A Wish Giveaway!

Last year, Bake Me A Wish sent a cake to help us celebrate our special event. This year, they did it again! We received a Black and White Mousse Cake for Logan and Sam's party. The cake arrived in perfect condition. It was a 7 inch round cake made with two moist chocolate cake layers sandwiched with heavenly clouds of classic whipped buttercream and decadent chocolate whipped cream, then enrobed in dark chocolate fudge frosting embellished with a white chocolate drizzle and covered with white chocolate shaves all around the sides. It was gorgeous, and quite tasty too! It was sweet, but not overly so and it didn't sit heavy on your stomach. It was packed with flavor! My only complaint? Larger would be better in this case! The Black and White Mousse Cake included an imported Belgian Chocolate Occasion Plaque, matching Greeting Card and it was packaged in an elegant gift box! Bake Me A Wish makes moist, delicious cakes and you can ship them anywhere! They even overnight cakes! One of my US readers will win a Black and White Mousse cake. To enter, visit Bake Me A Wish and tell me which cake you would love to try. Leave your answer in a comment. Follow Bake Me A Wish on Twitter and/or Facebook for two bonus entries! Follow me on Google/Networked Blogs/Facebook/Twitter for one bonus entry each. Follow (on Google/GFC) my new blog, Away We Go, for one extra entry! Giveaway ends midnight, May 15, 2011. Good Luck!
Disclosure: I was sent a cake in order to complete this review.

Toothless Cake Pops!

We couldn't have a themed party without themed cake pops. It just wouldn't be right! When Cute Cake Pops, by Boxed Pops, offered to make Toothless Cake Pops for our How To Train Your Dragon party, we were thrilled! When I contacted this lovely Etsy shop, I saw so many creative and adorable pops listed. Toothless wasn't one of them. When Aisa (the talented and creative baker behind this Etsy shop) found out about my theme she insisted on creating a pop perfect for our party. And she did! When I received the pops, they were wrapped with care and all the pops were in perfect condition. I couldn't believe all the detail put into these pops! Inside, rich chocolate cake and chocolate frosting made these even more irresistible. The cake was moist and delicious. Boxed Pops has a large variety of cake pops on Etsy and on her new website. You can also request other designs if you don't see what you're looking for. This Georgia baker has earned my top pick for her cute cake pops. Check her out and you'll see why!
Disclosure: I was sent cake pops for our birthday bash. No monetary compensation received.

And We're Off!

This week has been hectic and I'm a little behind. I've been posting, catching up on housework and yard work, and packing for our Jekyll Island Getaway! We are leaving in a few hours so I'll finish up the birthday posts next week. After that, I'll fill you in on our vacation! Our days will be filled with cool activities and I promise to take lots of pictures to share. Maybe you'll plan your very own trip to historic Jekyll Island soon! See you soon!

P.S. Bye Mom and Dad! We will miss you!

Wonka For Easter!!!

The Gerber Babies love Wonka, and I think they love us too! They played a big part in our Birthday Bash, sending plenty of sweets for our treat bags and then some!  My kids loved Kazoozles. They are two licorice ropes that you pull apart. Each lemon flavored rope is filled with fruit punch filling and dusted with sour sugar crystals. They are chewy and delicious! My kids didn't take them apart, but I don't blame them. They may be too good to share! The Rainbow Nerds Rope was cool, but it was a little messy. Sam dropped Nerds everywhere. I think this is a treat best enjoyed outside! My favorites were the new Easter candies. Waterfall Eggs and a Huge Dark Chocolate Waterfall Egg to be exact. The only problem? The Huge Waterfall Egg is hollow! Oh, well. It was good while it lasted. Some of our guests enjoyed a pinata filled with Spree, BottleCaps, SweeTarts, and Gobstoppers. Lets not forget Laffy Taffy (banana is my favorite!), Nerds, Fun Dip, Runts, and Shockers! Thank you for the sweet treats!  Wonka, we love you!
Disclosure: I was sent a HUGE box of candy for our Birthday Bash. I offered this post in return. Only my honest opinions were given.

Have Pizza Party Complete With Pizza Cookies!

Logan and Sam had an awesome pizza party this year! When I was planning the party, I stumbled upon a really cool cookie that would be perfect for the event!  I contacted Rollin' In Dough and they offered cookie favors for our special day. The pizza cookies looked like real pizza slices from a distance and they were a real treat for our guests!
The Pizza Cookies are vanilla almond butter cookie dough and they are iced with vanilla meringue butter cream. I could really taste the almond! The cookie had a great consistency and they were firm but not crumbly. The cookies retained the perfect amount of moisture! The icing was unlike anything I've ever had. It was softer than royal icing and it held up after being shipped across several states. The vanilla meringue was very interesting and Rollin' In Dough did a terrific job decorating these cookies! They were unique and definitely stood out!
If you are looking for other themed cookies, look no further! Here, you will find an assortment of designs ranging from nautical to floral. You'll find cookies that are perfect for weddings, showers, birthdays, and more! Rollin' In Dough is rollin' in talent, if you ask me! Check them out!
Disclosure: I was sent cookies in exchange for this mention.

Party With Domino's!

Last year, Domino's went all out for our Birthday Bash. My kids were in heaven with all the pizza they could eat! It was the first time in about 15 years that I had eaten Domino's Pizza. After their seeing their new commercials featuring their new pizza recipe, I found my mouth watering every time I saw their pizza on TV! Was it as good as I hoped? No. It was even better!
This year, Domino's did it again and we had a party to remember! It was even better than the last! We tried their new Boneless Chicken and their BBQ, Sweet Mango Habanero, and Hot Wings. The Boneless Chicken was my favorite. Lightly breaded, they were flavorful and juicy! The boneless chicken is 100% breast meat, not made with parts. I could actually identify it as chicken! Dip yours in Kicker Hot Sauce, New Sweet Mango Habanero, BBQ, Ranch or Blue Cheese. I liked mine plain, but their tangy BBQ Sauce is also delicious!
OK, I couldn't resist taking a bite before snapping the photo. Can you blame me? Domino's Pizza ROCKS, and my eyes ROLL as I devour slice after slice! Everything about it is wonderful. The toppings are fresh and the top isn't greasy. The crust is out of this world!
Logan's favorite food is pizza so this was a real treat for him. Sam loves it too, and he has learned to fold it like his dad, who was raised in NYC where everyone knows how to fold their pizza! Me, I eat mine with a fork, except when I get my hands on a Brooklyn Style Pizza from Domino's! It is my perfect pizza. The crust is just right!
Our guests enjoyed quite the feast! With 10 pizzas with assorted crusts and toppings, everyone had a great time trying new things. We also received a huge assortment of wings that went so fast, several missed out because they wanted to save the best for last! Sorry guys!
The Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes....ahhhh let me tell you about them! They were warm when they arrived and I heated them up before serving. The liquid chocolate centers explode at first bite and you get this rush of thick chocolate fudge that  you must experience! The crunchy outside is very deceiving! What awaits inside is pure bliss!
My husband picked our order up at the Sylvester, Georgia location. They are always friendly and the place is spotless every time we go in for a pick up! Thanks guys! Y'all did a terrific job! Our order was correct and perfectly cooked and nothing was forgotten. Everything was great! I seriously doubt I can top this next year.
Disclosure: Domino's sponsored our party in exchange for our opinion and this mention. No monetary compensation received.

Add Some Color To Your Next Party!

This year, we received really fun favors for our guests. My favorite? Cool dinosaur crayons in exciting colors from Red Elm Designs! The crayons were really detailed and well done. I didn't find any bubbles or other imperfections. They were so shiny and smooth! The crayons were loved by all, especially Sam. His crayon fit perfectly in his hand and he couldn't wait to color away!
When I visited Red Elm Designs on Etsy, I couldn't believe the selection! I had a hard time deciding on a design. When I saw the dinosaurs, I had to have them!!! Logan and Sam LOVE dinosaurs! But take a look at those cupcakes! Wow! And the cookie crayons shown at the end of this post? They look good enough to eat! It's a good thing Red Elm Designs labels their crayons!
The crayons are bright and vivid. They are made with quality wax so they color evenly and smooth! We loved them and I think you will too! Check them out!
Disclosure: I was sent an assortment of dinosaur crayons to use in my favor bags in exchange for this post.

" Rollin' In The Dough"

Just look at the picture. You're jealous, right? Say It So Sweetly came up with the ultimate indulgence and I received some for our Birthday Bash! Cookie dough and brownies collide in my new favorite treat. Brownies and cookie dough? It's pure fantasy, the best of both worlds! They are so good, you'll remember their name,  Rollin In The Dough- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownie Balls
Delicious chocolate chip cookie dough is enrobed in thick milk chocolate and drizzled with white. Beneath that heavenly layer, you'll find a chocolate treasure hidden inside. Moist brownie! Velvety smooth and rich, these brownies would be great alone. The combination is utterly sinful. They are very pretty and I think they're perfect for birthdays, showers, weddings, and gifts!

They are larger than I expected so I took a comparison photo next to an average cupcake to show you what I mean. They are very rich, and I almost didn't finish mine! I could easily eat half and come back later for the rest. That might require extensive planning on my part and an unbelievably good hiding place. Set one of these down and you'll know what I mean. They disappear like crazy! Say It So Sweetly, you make everything so sweetly! I have a baby shower to plan and I don't think I'll be able to resist buying your adorable mints...and brownie balls...and brownies...and, um cookie pops! You make me want to try them all!!!
Disclosure: I was sent these wonderful treats in exchange for this post. No monetary compensation received.

Birthdays With Dillonsgirl!

Saturday was a fun-filled day for us all! We hosted family and friends and celebrated Logan and Sam's birthday like never before. To thank everyone for spending the day with us, we gave each guest the cutest cupcake favor to take home! I'll save the containers for another post. For now, let me tell you all about the toppers that I used on my favors! Dillonsgirl, a lovely Etsy shop, sent these adorable Dinosaur Die Cuts in green and blue! They were made from cardstock and they were really easy to apply. I used a little tape to secure them. The trio of dinosaurs featured lots of great details and everyone loved them! The die cuts made our favors even more special and unique. Since my children are both dinosaur fans, it was a nice personal touch! The die cuts are really inexpensive and they can be used for a lot of different projects. Check out Dillonsgirl. There you will find Lisa, creative crafter and designer. She can work magic with paper and she can also create a mean stitch with a little yarn. This is one talented artist you don't want to miss!
